Dr Christine Hammond Gabbadon is a Paediatrician with over 30 years’ experience caring for children of all ages. She pursued her medical training at the University of the West Indies (UWI) where she completed the MBBS degree followed by the Diploma in Child Health and the Doctorate in Paediatrics. She later completed the postgraduate diploma and MSc in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London.
Her varied experience includes working at the Bustamante Hospital for Children and the Ministry of Health’s Family Health Unit as Programme Development Officer as well as the Sickle Cell Unit, the UWI. She was also the medical director of Red Hills Mall Paediatrics before joining Essential Medical Services. With a passion for teaching, she has taught at both the UWI and UTECH, tutoring doctors and public health nurses on child health topics and the updated immunization programme.
Her interests include music, sports, and community service, and has given voluntary service on the boards of several organizations including the Paediatric Association of Jamaica and Island Aquatics Synchro Club. Dr. Hammond Gabbadon is married with 3 adult children and is a member of Swallowfield Chapel in Kingston
